We made all of our arrangements and actually were able to go to Mexico together. Patti with ISA made all of the arrangements for us to arrive a few days before the surgery to take in some of the culture. We took advantage of this time to do some sight-seeing (and shopping) in Mexico. We ate our "last meal" at a popular Mexican restaurant, which was yummy!!! We were picked up Saturday morning at our hotel, and taken to the hospital. They did all the pre-op testing and blood work, and before we knew it, we were done. The doctors and staff were wonderful. They were very attentive and caring. We were the only two patients in the hospital (because surgery usually doesn't happen on Saturdays), so we were pretty much waited on hand and foot. A year later, I have lost 125lbs and my husband has lost 110lbs. I have gone from a size 28 or 30 down to an 8 or a 10. He has gone from wearing a size 52 waist pants to a size 38. We can actually run and play with our kids now. Our lives are dramatically different. I don't think I could ever put into words how grateful I am to Patti and her entire team for making themselves available for my husband and myself to have a great and new life! |
